THINK Surgical, Inc., an innovator in the field of orthopedic surgical robots, announced the successful first use of b-ONE Ortho Corporation's MOBIO® Total Knee System utilizing the TMINI® Miniature Robotic System by Dr. Jay Pond, an orthopedic surgeon at the Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital-Arlington (BOSHA) in Arlington, Texas.
"It was an exciting and successful first case with the MOBIO Total Knee and the TMINI System," said Dr. Pond. "This combination is a great offering for my patients who are interested in a robotic total knee replacement."
"This first case with the TMINI Robot and the MOBIO Total Knee now marks successful clinical use with all 9 of our FDA-cleared implant partners," said Stuart Simpson, CEO and President of THINK Surgical. "This powerful combination provides a compelling alternative to surgeons looking for a modern single-radius knee implant design with robotic assistance."
"We are excited that Dr. Jay Pond implanted the first b-ONE Ortho MOBIO Total Knee with the TMINI Robot. We are seeing great success with the MOBIO single-radius design and now being on the TMINI System's open platform, surgeons have excellent choices to meet their implant and robotic surgery demands," said Jim Duncan, General Manager of b-ONE Ortho Corporation.
THINK Surgical received FDA 510(k) clearance for use of the MOBIO Total Knee System with the TMINI Miniature Robotic System in November of 2024.
